Project Engineer Graduate at Honeywell Australia and New Zealand
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) Honours at University of Auckland
As a Graduate Project Engineer I am shaping the future by
Ensuring that the projects I am assigned to meet deadlines; the system functions and operates to the client’s standards (to a reasonable degree!).
Describe your day to day
A lot of teamwork and collaboration is required daily. Consistency across the frontend (i.e. focussing more on the visual aspect) as well as in the backend (i.e. focussing more on the structure of points) is paramount to the quality of the build and ease of maintenance.
Describe your biggest achievement as a Grad
Working on the EBI system of a large project allowed me to learn more about how the systems are built and I was assigned a small one-day job to upgrade some graphics on a different site. Being able to accomplish that without any major problems was a testament to how much I have learnt.
What is something you have learnt about yourself over your Grad journey
I’ve learnt that while perseverance is good, there is a fine line between that and stubbornness. Always be willing to ask for help and take breaks!
What I like best about the Grad Program
Graduates are important to Honeywell and the thought and effort that goes into planning our development and careers shows.
