About the Role

We are currently seeking a Graduate Service Solutions Specialist to join our collaborative, cohesive and fun team of go-getters. As the Service Solutions Specialist for the Region, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, commissioning and ongoing support/maintenance and upgrades of all Operational Technology (OT), Enterprise Applications and Connected Services delivered into the service Line of Business (LOB). The Service Solutions Specialist team will also be responsible for working in collaboration with the Regional and Pole ICT Engineering teams to ensure the correct implementation of Honeywell products and services in line with the HBS Buildings global portfolio. 

This will also include integrated application implementation to promote, and deliver operational critical solutions to our customers whilst maintaining a high standard of customer care across all clients. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, commissioning, support/maintenance and upgrades of Honeywell’s OT, Connected Services and Enterprise Software Applications
  • Ensure the global alignment, adherence and standardisation of the design, installation, service and upgrades of Honeywell OT and Enterprise Applications with respect to the ICT and Cybersecurity services and technology selection of hardware/software.
  • Take ownership of site-based engineering issues and work in collaboration with TAC to ensure any issues with OT, Enterprise Applications or Connected Services are identified and rectified promptly
  • Work in collaboration with ICT engineers to facilitate implementation and upgrades of OT and Enterprise Software Applications.
  • Review proposed server/storage/network designs with ICT Engineers to validate quotes from IT providers such as Dell/etc. Provide sizing guidance to ICT Engineers such as point/port requirements and device counts.
  • Present new Honeywell products and proposed solutions to Account Managers/Sales teams
  • Identify areas of innovation, technical excellence and best practices through knowledge sharing internally and externally to facilitate HBS becoming the go-to business for clients, star performers and employees.
  • Work with the Account and Operation Managers in the Region to develop strong strategic partnerships with our existing customer base and identify and secure new customer portfolios.
  • Develop integrations and bespoke customizations for 3rd party products as required to meet solution design specifications.
  • Develop detailed system designs/architectures, implementation procedures and documentation required for the successful delivery of the implementation/upgrades of all OT, Enterprise Applications and Connected Services.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, schedules, and design/configuration documentation.

Key Experience & Capabilities: 

  • Recent graduate (or graduate who will finish in the next 6 months) in engineering such as Electrical or Mechanical, Systems engineering or Computer science with a focus on HVAC and security.
  • Current and demonstrated knowledge and systems experience in an enterprise environment with the following technologies:
  • Windows Server Applications
  • Microsoft Active Directory Services
  • Server Based Scripting
  • Remote desktop access
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Terminal Services / Citrix

Could be anything from writing a project proposal, to doing drawings, scoping and spacing the engineering of a new project, being on site decommission a site, establishing a new site, servicing an existing site, meeting with stakeholders and clients, meetings with business leaders, or formal training to upskill.

In general Honeywell takes care to ease you into your career and work with little stress, this can be a double-edged sword as confident and eager graduates may find Handover of responsibility can be slow. 4 months into the program I have completed a lot of training with more still to go which at times can make you feel like you're still at uni. But I have been shadowing & helping with the fulfilment of a massive project, with the prospect of much more to come.

Currently my day-to-day responsibilities evolve around upskilling myself my attending training's to better understand the application/services we provide our customers. I also work on conducting system analyses of site systems and creating estimates for software upgrades to provide to respective account managers. Some of my key day-to-day responsibilities as I learn all the technical aspects of my role will be to perform system upgrades at various sites to provide customers with Honeywell's latest HBS applications and services, and resolve technical issues that arise with applications.

Cons

    • There are lots of procedures, but this is common to most big companies.

    • Steep learning curve if you haven't been exposed to the type of work but the Honeywell staff/team is super supportive.

    • I was hoping for a high-rise office in the middle of the city.

    • While Honeywell is an amasing place to work, the most challenging aspect can be the high expectations and fast-paced nature of the projects. Managing multiple responsibilities and ensuring top-quality results can be demanding, especially when juggling tight deadlines. However, this challenge is also an opportunity for growth, pushing me to develop better time management and problem-solving skills. The supportive team and access to resources help mitigate these challenges, turning them into valuable learning experiences.
