Working Hours at IMC Trading Australia

7.2 rating for Working Hours, based on 24 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Traders and other people who work in a specific exchange tend to follow the exchange hours, but other people's work hours are more flexible. They are usually alright iff you need to take an afternoon off and work over the weekends instead. I usually work from around 9 am to 6 pm, with around an hour lunch midday. Sometimes I stay longer to finish up some stuff but I would work less hours the next day/week.

The company is very flexible about the number of hours you work.

Generally work from 8:30 to 6:00 but start and end time can be pretty flexible within a reasonable range

There's no explicit expectation for us to stay later, but in general people will work slightly more than a usual 9-5

I work approximately 10 hours a day, although this is not required. Work hours are usually very flexible, and there are only a few regular meetings with mandatory attendance.

The hours are 'flexible' but because of this the expectations are unclear and result in this 'expectation creep'.

Usually about 9-6, but with a lot of flexibility to come in later or leave earlier if necessary.

Normal 9-5 hours for software engineers. Some people work more because they really enjoy their work. - No face-time culture. Your hours are flexible if you get your work done.

Very flexible. I have no concerns and can work whatever is needed to ensure the work is done.

Work hours correspond pretty closely to trading hours, and there is not much you can do about that. You can definitely take time off here or there to go to an appointment or something, but most of the systems are running during trading hours so that's when you can get the most done.

I work about 50 hours a week but the hours are quite flexible (but incredibly rigid when it comes to trading hours)

It's roughly 09:00-19:00, so around 10 hour days, but if you need to head off early or come in late they are happy to work around it.

Pretty flexible but sometimes can get busy

Relatively flexible - no set start or end, but you do need overlap with the majority of the trading hours.

The company is quite flexible but it is very common for most employees to stay for quite long hours - there is no requirement but it is common

My day is usually an 8-8.5 hour day, with around an hour spent on lunch. The company is pretty flexible on hours depending on the team. Some teams require you to be there at 9am due to exchange trading hours.

Traders are required to work (at least) the trading hours of their market.
