Management at NAB Australia

9.1
9.1 rating for Management, based on 90 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Quite accessible
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Sep 2024
I really love my managers, they have all been really supportive, and I get the opportunity to work with a new manager with every rotation. Additionally, I get the ongoing support from the early careers team throughout my whole program. They provide a lot of support for all of our graduates, and they have made the transition to the corporate world a fun one. All the leaders and members of the early careers team genuinely care about your experience and journey at NAB.

My direct manager is amazing.
Graduate, Brisbane - 13 Aug 2024
Managers are easily accessible and value their team members. The seniors hold themselves accountable and look to support you as best as possible while also giving you the opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for your work.

Managers are lovely people, communicate well. Sometimes quite busy so can be hard to get official conversations, but also acknowledging we are rotating in teams so less representative of permanent role.
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Aug 2024
My managers are/have been accessible and we also have the option to participate in a mentoring program.

I've had 2 managers so far and communications have been great with them both 1st manager was Sydney based so we often meet face to face and have regular meetings despite his busy schedule for feedback and coaching sessions 2nd manager is Melb based but despite the distance we have weekly catchups on Zoom for feedback and coaching, and very responsive to emails/messages

Managers are fantastic. The company promotes dialogue and ease of access to managers.
Graduate, Melbourne - 17 Mar 2021
Weekly 'formal' check-ins with my manager but always available for more day-to-day concerns (in addition to my 'team buddy'). Formal framework is used for performance reviews/feedback. bimonthly check-in with one-up manager to review
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Mar 2021
Haven't seen a lot of them- the program is spread out across the country so often your manager lives in a different state- therefore most interactions are online or via zoom

Dedicate lots of time to us, allow us to learn and keep expectations reasonable
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Mar 2021
Managers aren't overbearing but will make sure you're on the right track and are (in my experience) open to talk whenever you need to.
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Mar 2021
Managers are extremely accessible and make fantastic mentors - all you have to do is reach out and mention you're a graduate, and they are almost always happy to make time for you.
Graduate, Melbourne - 07 Dec 2017
Varies, personally, I've had great managers who were supportive and help you develop, the performance conversation is getting easier.
Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Dec 2017
All my managers and mentors have been extremely helpful, and are accessible at all times! We constantly meet formally and informally to talk about performance and etc.
Graduate, Sydney - 04 Dec 2017
Senior managers readily engage and interact with Graduates; however, don't necessarily make themselves available as mentors all the time.
