Lights are off when no one is using.

Steel production is carbon reliant process. There are many ongoing projects to reduce our carbon footprint.

The company is currently researching steel making through hydrogen as the reductant. This will signifcantly reduce coal consumption. There is other research into extracting titanium from molten slag which will make use of a waste product and utilize wasted heat energy from the ironmaking process

Given the nature of the industry, huge effort is put in to reducing our environmental footprint with every part of the steel making process criticized to create a cleaner way of manufacturing steel.
