From theoretical lectures on trading fundamentals to working on group projects that contribute towards our ever-evolving strategies, youโll receive the same training as our full-time trading team. Youโll also work alongside another trading, research and tech interns to develop your own trading algorithms.
By the end of the program, youโll have a solid theoretical and practical understanding of life as a Quantitative Trader. Youโll also learn and apply Python programming skills, which are highly sought after in the market.
Youโre a lateral thinker, with a passion for quantitative problems and working in dynamic environments. You believe in the power of collaborative problem-solving and may have an interest in trading or financial markets.

As an Options Trader, during market hours, you'll be making quick, yet sharp, trading decisions, based on the data available. You love puzzles, and predictions and have a flair for numbers. Youโre driven to understand the why, but youโre also comfortable with making decisions under uncertainty. As a D1 trader, youโll be in charge of running and constantly improving Optiverโs automated trading strategies. Whether itโs conducting a micro-analysis on part of the trading stack, or searching for new, novel trading signals in large, noisy data sets, youโll be using your strong quantitative skills to continually solve trading problems that donโt have textbook solutions. You will collaborate closely with researchers and developers to trade, using Optiverโs cutting-edge statistical models and machine learning algorithms.
As an Institutional trader, you'll be making quick trading decisions, whilst working closely with third parties. You have strong communication skills and can remain focused under pressure. Youโre passionate about quantitative problems and have a flair for numbers. Building rapport comes naturally to you, and you enjoy developing strong relationships with your colleagues and entities outside of Optiver.
