I am more of post-sales. Thus, I interact a lot with customers remotely, either via Email or a phone call. As a graduate, you take a longer time to solve something for the customer and it can be quite pressurizing if the customer's situation is urgent. However, you get to learn a lot through the customer's application.

Pros and cons of working at Schneider Electric Australia & New Zealand

Pros

  • Fantastic work culture, having compared notes with others from my graduating class there doesn’t seem to be many places that are this welcoming and open.

  • The flexible hours of my work day, allowing me to start and finish when I need to.

  • People are very supportive. My co-workers or managers are always willing to answer my questions if I get stuck on tasks.

  • Lot of opportunities to grow your career, good work-life balance, helpful teammates.

  • There is a great degree of diversity in backgrounds and profession - there is a lot of room to learn.

Cons

    • Challenging to navigate a global and large organisation at times.

    • Sometimes you can feel overwhelmed as there is such a large product portfolio and no singular hub for information and resources.

    • Some work is very aligned with background/passions and some is what you have to do to get the work done.

    • SE is so big that it can be difficult to navigate or find the right person for help. Change can also take a while.

    • The office location is too far and sometimes travelling to regional sites.
