Coming from a technical background, there are a lot of opportunities for you to explore different parts of the business - you can also go to a commercial role.

Many opportunities, both in my home country and abroad. Very big company so many opportunities to either progress in the same career path or step into something else

Dependent on the drive of the individual

There are opportunities to go anywhere in Schneider Electric. People move interstate or overseas if there's a role available for them.

There is evidence that if you do well, the company will reward you. In saying that, for the first time they made 5 employees redundant from the program indicating they over hired. This has created a lot of uncertainty and worry amongst graduates as we believed roles were secured due to the wording in the program's advertising.

Promotion opportunities are plentiful at Schneider as the business is ever expanding, and new roles are appearing to create efficiency and cope with changes in the industry. To move up the ranks, you will need to hop on many cross functional projects to gain experience in every corner of the business, as well as build a strong rapport with as many employees and managers you can so you can stay aware of any upcoming job opportunities.

A willingness to put yourself out there and a drive to move yourself forward are essential. Having these makes it easier to move around and up.
Leaders and managers are generally very open to have discussions about potential work and are happy to be approached.
There is also a formal platform to see internally what positions, roles and projects are available and make it very easy to reach out directly to the managers responsible

While you are in the graduate program, you conduct three different rotation which don't really provide opportunities to move up the ranks in the company. However, there is plenty of communication about opportunities once the graduate program is completed.

Doesn't feel like there is career progression. Next step in my career is dependent on availability of roles. We are told to network and try to be front of mind for hiring managers but at the end of the day it comes down to business performance/needs, headcount, budget. There is no current role opening, the chances of a role being created is up in the air. The hiring manager may like you but there cannot be a promise you will get a role if performance is down. There are opportunities but it doesn't always feel accessible from an overall company perspective. Within teams, it is manager dependent. Some managers are very motivating and are happy to push you into the right direction/open to consider you for great roles.

I feel like I have a lot of great opportunities to grow and continue on in this company. The company is very open with their opportunities and open roles, and the early careers team for the graduates put a lot of effort into helping us graduates find a full time position by the end of our contract.

I've only been here for 6months so I'm not sure how much of this I can comment on but there has been several people I've known to have moved to a new city or even country in pursuit of there careers, along with many options within the cities that they are already in.

Knowing that there is a path for each graduate is great.

Plenty of opportunity. Just have to ask around and they can tell you what skills you need to develop to get the role you desire.

The company structure is confusing - it is unclear in certain areas as how you can move up the ranks. Also, certain individuals in higher positions are seen to be overworked - it makes their position undesirable at times.

I believe there is a good outline between myself and my manager on the pathway of progressing my career.
