I believe that as a grad, I am always trying to present myself as a hard worker. I am still trying to learn to be flexible with my hours, especially if there are early / late night calls with colleagues across the ocean. However, I am very satisfied that we get to work from home on some days and go into the office on others. As on some days, my social battery may not be where I want it to be, I would prefer to just work from home.

Very flexible. I am able to adjust my day if other tasks come up outside of work. I can also work more and then have a day off if needed.

The company is flexible about working hours but as a grad it is less flexible. There is too much work and I work over The required hours. It is expected to work over hours as management does the same

Most days, I can choose the times when I want to work. I also get paid overtime if I do work overtime.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Aug 2024
Completely flexible. It is up to you to motivate yourself and come into the office, there is no expectation. I choose when and how I work.

Flexible work hours with the ability to work from home depending on the role that you are in. For a project engineer, you are allowed to work one day per week from home.
Graduate, Benalla - 29 Aug 2024
My work hours are typically from 8:30am - 4:30pm, as this works best with traffic when commuting to work. There has never been any direct instruction that these hours need to be the typical 9am-5pm, as personal circumstances occur naturally. SE is very flexible with hours, and are understanding if you need to pop out for a few hours and make up for it later. This applies for illnesses or doctors appointments also, as they trust you will put in the time to complete all your neccessary work. It is very rare you will have after hours meetings or be working late hours as a grad, which is good for maintaining work life balance.

As long as you are contactable during important hours (10-4 in Aus, slightly adjusted for international customers), your hours are yours to manage.
There is an obligation to fill the 38 hour work week but how is up to you

7.6 hours.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Aug 2024
Very flexible. Dependent on manager. Need to be in office two days a week, and online during business hours but this is adjustable - again, dependent on manager.
Graduate, Sydney - 28 Aug 2024
No working from home is a bit not that satisfactory.
Graduate, Sydney - 23 Aug 2024
My work hours are always roughly 9:00 to 5:00 each day, but I have some flexibility around those times if I need to work it like that. The really nice part is I can work remotely as well, which significantly cuts down travel time and allows me to pace myself better. I'm in the office 2-3 days a week and it's working well for me.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Aug 2024
I've yet to be asked to do overtime without some form of compensation, along with a strong work from home culture.
Graduate, Brisbane - 21 Aug 2024
Role can be challenging with the day-to-day tasks for often I work earlier and sometimes later hours. However my manager ensures that I understand 'taking my time back' and setting boundaries for my working hours.
Graduate, Sydney - 16 Aug 2024
Work hours 7.6/day
Employees can allocate the work hours based on their personal conditions.
Graduate, Brisbane - 16 Aug 2024
Its very flexible but when on site, we need to follow construction standard timings.
Graduate, Sydney - 16 Aug 2024
Generally it’s the usual 9-5 job, however, there will be times where you have to work longer to finish your tasks. As an engineer, you can’t leave something broken on a live site, so you have to stay back to make sure it’s back to working conditions. However, if you work longer one day you can work less on the other day. I usually work less hours on Fridays by working longer on the other days.
