  • Banking & Financial Services

Suncorp New Zealand is a leading general and life insurance provider. We are part of Suncorp, a Top 20 ASX-listed financial services company with $96 billion in assets, employing over 13,500 people. You might know us through our intermediated brands, Vero, Vero Liability and Asteron Life, or through our partnerships, AA Insurance, AA Life and AA Money. Our portfolio of brands means our people can take advantage of the career opportunities that come with a large-scale organisation, while also enjoying the flexibility and flat hierarchy of a small one.

Our purpose is building futures and protecting what matters. It is what drives us every day and gives meaning to every action we take.

A graduate position with Suncorp provides you with unlimited career building and professional development opportunities and enables you to put learning into practice while enjoying the flexibility of gaining valuable experience in different business areas across insurance, finance and technology. Our Graduate Program is ideal if you are a final year student looking for a structured professional development program as part of your first full-time job after uni.

When you join our team, you will discover that our friendly and supportive culture puts people first – whether they are employees or customers. This is also reflected in our support of community programs and initiatives, and our encouragement of team members to pursue their interests outside of work. Most importantly, you will be collaborating and working side-by-side with experienced leaders to create innovative solutions for our business and our customers.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • I love the culture and the flexibility we have in our working arrangements. I also love the exposure we get at graduates to so many areas of the business.
  • Great community within the company & especially the graduates themselves. A large amount of opportunities to try out different things & discover which type of work you enjoy the most.
  • Suncorp offers continuous support and opportunities to its graduates. I love being able to network with a large group of people in a variety of roles across the business.
  • Supportive and kind colleagues, flexibility in work, growth and pathway opportunities.
  • Hybrid, flexible work - sometimes you don't get a good night's sleep - and being able to skip the commute is fantastic for my mental health.
  • The technology experience, there are multiple portals to request access to things, and if you mess one up it will take weeks to solve. Getting set up at the start of your role can take weeks to be able to complete your work independently because of this.
  • Sometimes not given enough work.
  • There is innovation lag, but there is a lot being done in the innovation space to make up for some lost time.
  • Difficulty finding permanent employment after a Graduate Programme.
  • It is difficult to be satisfied as there is no opportunity to grow my salary outside of inflationary pay bumps in the Suncorp program.
