TFA itself is an organisation dedicated to educational equity. The whole company is an initiative to increase access of schools to quality teachers.

The culture is extremely collaborative, supportive, progressive and caring. At the Associate level, there is a lot of socialisation and collegiality, and at the higher levels (support and administration) there is an entrenched sense of equality and helpfulness.

There is a strong focus on equity. It has been baked into all our training programs.

I am provided with extensive leadership opportunities and have autonomy with determining the learning journey for more than 100 young people, with significant and regular training.

Prior to beginning teaching, there was a 6-week Intensive which addressed all the basic needs prior to stepping into the classroom. It was very full-on but prepared us as well as possible. Now that I am teaching, I have a TFA mentor who visits frequently to help me improve my teaching. She is wonderful and has been a great help to me so far.

The TFA program is designed to be intense! It's full-time employment with a full-time Masters degree, but the hours are worthwhile.

Virtual meetings where possible, rather than travelling for meetings. Flights are carbon offset.
