We have a graduate planning consultant role available in our Hamilton or Tauranga office. We also have an opportunity available in our Wellington office.

About our graduate roles
Our planning consultancy team are a talented bunch. We have strong technical planning experience in the Resource Management Act (RMA) and urban planning, and we genuinely love sharing that expertise, knowledge, and passion with our developing planners. Our graduates get involved in a range of stakeholder work with developers, businesses, and government agencies. They have the opportunity to work on a range of development projects, planning policy work and site or client visits alongside our senior consultants.

Eligibility and locations
To be eligible to apply, you will be a current or recent graduate (within the past two years). You will have an undergraduate or master’s degree in planning, or a relevant post-graduate qualification. Ideally, this role will be based in our Hamilton office, however there may be scope to base our graduate planning role in Tauranga if that is your preference. We also have a role in our Wellington office.

Culture within TPG is friendly and social. Social outings are prioritized to help staff bonding.
The workload can be overwhelming at times, however it's great for learning and becoming more knowledgeable in all areas related to the job.
Lack of perks.
Lack of structure and guidance within the middle management space.
Not bad office spaces, some much better than others.
There is a lack of transparency around career progression, especially regarding pay bands and what is needed to move from one level to the next.
