Theta is a successful NZ owned technology consultancy with 260 people across offices in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Christchurch. We are proud of our company culture and we have a diverse workplace where everyone appreciates and respects individuality and inclusiveness.
We have created a new graduate position for a People and Culture Coordinator looking to establish a career in HR. You will be joining a small, friendly and collaborative People team and will work across both HR and People and Culture supporting our staff through the employee lifecycle.
This role is so varied that no day will be the same and you’ll keep learning as you put your theoretical knowledge into practice. Your key tasks will involve general HR & recruitment administration support including employment contracts, variation letters, and onboarding of new employees, coordinating, and administering People and Culture related activities such as employee well-being activities and becoming a key SME of our HRIS system (ELMO).
You will bring passion, enthusiasm and a bright and sharp mind to this role and will have that “can do” attitude with the willingness to roll up your sleeves and jump in where needed. You like being proactive and are not afraid to show initiative.
I am currently an intern and I am responsible for developing and improving features one of Theta's products.
I work in the Product team, building software applications for Theta to sell to their customers. I mostly work on a number of .NET Core (C#) web applications, both building new features and improving existing ones as well.
I spent my day problem solving to improve or develop new features for our digital products.

Technology
With over 300 talented tech professionals, Theta designs and delivers the latest solutions to businesses in New Zealand and around the world.
The first plus point is I got to work on a real code and product quite early in the program. Some of my classmates who are doing their internship at other companies said they spend the majority of their time reading documentation, which is not my preference. The second plus point is my mentor gives clear instructions and well explanations on the tasks and is always happy to answer any questions. I got enough attention from the mentor and never feel left out. I also got good support from team members. And finally, the friendly working environment at Theta.

Exciting projects to work on and the company has a great focus on people and wellbeing.
Flexibility around working from home, and support when I need it.
Very supportable and helpful. Provides opportunities for real industry projects.
I am only here for a short amount of time so really can't think of anything bad at the moment.
Working from home a lot at the moment.
Some miscommunication around expectations, and about requirements that interns have on a day to day basis.
