Pros and cons of working at Ventia

Pros

  • The people here are all really great. Generally very supportive and easy to talk to.

  • The best thing about working at Ventia is the opportunities and experiences you have with different teams.

  • Lots of flexibility, great people, lots of opportunities.

  • Having the opportunity to be included in different rotations is extremely beneficial for grads as we get our foot in the door for different roles.

  • The work culture and inclusivity at Ventia are amazing, even as a grad we are asked to be a part of all social events, leadership meetings, and workshops.

Cons

    • Our salary is not as competitive as some other companies.

    • For long periods, I have had nothing to do and generally was underutilised.

    • Having the company work across New Zealand and Australia creates some communication barriers.

    • Sometimes due to how large the company is and the variety of work they do, it's difficult to get a proper handle on what everyone does at the company and know who to reach out to.

    • Travel distance far from site areas.
