Pros & Cons
The people here are all really great. Generally very supportive and easy to talk to.
The best thing about working at Ventia is the opportunities and experiences you have with different teams.
Lots of flexibility, great people, lots of opportunities.
Having the opportunity to be included in different rotations is extremely beneficial for grads as we get our foot in the door for different roles.
The work culture and inclusivity at Ventia are amazing, even as a grad we are asked to be a part of all social events, leadership meetings, and workshops.
Our salary is not as competitive as some other companies.
For long periods, I have had nothing to do and generally was underutilised.
Having the company work across New Zealand and Australia creates some communication barriers.
Sometimes due to how large the company is and the variety of work they do, it's difficult to get a proper handle on what everyone does at the company and know who to reach out to.
Travel distance far from site areas.

There’s no permanent position at the end of the graduate program which is quite disappointing after two years and four rotations at the company.
The work culture and inclusivity at Ventia are amazing, even as a grad we are asked to be a part of all social events, leadership meetings, and workshops.
Ventia also has a lot of communities such as an intercultural network or an LGBTIQA+ community which gives those people a community, people to reach out to, and a sort of support system.
We've got many teams focused on sustainability or energy. There's also lots of encouragement for everyone to implement something into their project that helps with sustainability or reduces emissions.
