Careers start with care. As a William Buck Graduate, we will nurture and grow your skills and confidence with focused Learning and Development programs, and a fun and collaborative team culture.

You will be valued for what you bring, encouraged to discover your interests, shape your own career path, and be excited for your future.

At William Buck, we’re big enough to challenge the Big 4 on the complexity of work, but small enough that you’ll get to work one-on-one with your Directors – they’ll know your name, celebrate your birthday, and take a keen interest in helping you achieve your ambitions and career goals.

The Graduate Opportunity

Our Graduate roles start off as permanent full-time positions, with promotions typically earned after 12 months employment. We have multiple Graduate opportunities within Audit commencing January 2025.

Audit & Assurance

Our Auditors are often out at client’s premises conducting external audits of their organisation. An audit can provide assurance to a financial report for the stakeholders involved. Audit can also include risk management whereby programs are integrated into a business’ operational processes to improve overall performance. A successful Auditor is at the forefront of legislative, compliance and financial reporting requirements and plays an integral role in the future success of our clients business.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • The mindset to treat each day as a learning opportunity.
  • A passion for client service and relationship building.
  • A willingness to have a go and give it your best.
  • Be completing your final year of university studies, majoring in Accounting or similar discipline

We will provide you with:

  • A defined career plan including structured on-the-job training to ensure year on year professional and personal growth.
  • Financial and coaching support as you work towards becoming a Chartered Accountant through CAANZ.
  • The opportunity to attend our “Grad College” overseas with William Buck Graduates from around Australia and NZ.
  • Access to numerous social events, networking opportunities and a range of employee benefits – it’s not all work!

What happens next?

  1. Apply: Fill out the online application, attaching a cover letter, your resume and your academic transcript.
  2. Online testing and video interview: You will be invited to answer a range of questions and complete activities through our gamification suite. We recommend you set aside 1hr of your time to complete the test and ensure your environment is free from distractions. You will also be asked 3 questions via video interviewing, so a working camera, a microphone and hi-speed internet are essential!
  3. Response: Following completion of step 2, we will be in contact regarding the process moving forward.

If you’re interested in working in an inclusive and team-oriented environment where you are supported every step of the way, then William Buck is the place for you to start your CAREeer.

My role as a graduate auditor involves a lot of learning. I have become familiar with some parts of the auditing process, and can now contribute to audits with some independence. I spend my time testing expenses, property, plant, equipment, trade and other payables, cash equivalents and more. This involves using different methods and checks to make sure the clients financial reports are recorded accurately and appropriately. During the day, if I complete the tasks assigned to me for my client, I help my colleagues with their clients.

In my current role, each day is well-organized with appropriate tasks. I am temporarily following the arrangements set by my manager, which helps in maintaining a structured daily schedule.
