Graduate Planner at WSP New Zealand
Bachelor of Environmental Practice at Massey University
7.30 AM
I start my day with a cup of coffee at home. I live in Te Puke, and I take advantage of the public transport subsidy provided by WSP to get to work. It’s about a 25-minute bus ride for me, and the morning walk to the bus is always a fresh way to start the day.
8.00 AM
My days at the office are never the same. Today, I assisted in a site visit to check on the construction of a slip remediation solution. It is always nice to get out of the office and see the projects our teams work on.
12.00 PM
Today there is a Pathways Webinar showcasing WSP projects from around the country. The local Pathways team organised catering for a lunch viewing. Pathways webinars are a great way to mingle with other emerging professionals in your office while learning new things about WSP and the industry.
1.00 PM
I then begin preparing a planning assessment for the local Tauranga Water Team to determine potential consenting requirements.
4.00 PM
To finish off the day, I join a kick-off meeting for an internal project to manage the progress of a major client’s projects with WSP.
5.00 PM
After work, I like to unwind. On most days I chill out at home, but today is Thursday, so I have footy down at the park with the WSP social team.
