Complete your work experience hours with our world-leading consultancy. A WSP Summer Internship provides you the opportunity to connect with our technical experts and strategic advisors, who can impart a wealth of collective experience and knowledge.
To be eligible for an internship, you must be:
- Ideally completing your second to last year of study before the Summer break
- Ideally planning to graduate at the end of 2022
- Finished with all your practical hours (if applicable)
- Available to work mid-November to mid-February
- Interested in obtaining a Graduate role with WSP in 2023

We need students from a variety of disciplines of study, including engineering, planning, property and science degrees.

My day to day sees me perform project management tasks such as subcontractor management, oversite over site works to ensure all works are done as per design. As well as this I look after tendering, planning, and procureing items for future works.
I feel like I am contributing to my community/country through the projects I am involved with, and that I am doing work that is meaningful to my own career development, the business itself and to society. I am also involved with a committee at work, so my role is not just limited to being an engineer; I also have other committee responsibilities.
Rail engineer mainly sitting in project or site offices doing site inspections, designs and verification type of tasks.

The amazing people! Everyone is so lovely and genuinely wants to help.
Good flexible working - can work from home, another NZ office, or potentially even overseas.

Great communication between senior staff and graduates.
Worldwide and nationwide opportunities and connections, exciting projects and knowledgeable seniors.
Cons
Workload fluctuates, sometimes it's busy, other times light with little to do.
Utilization targets put pressure on training and development time.
The pay is less than what I believe I should be getting for my role.
Parking is an issue, especially with the office located in the CBD.
There aren't many negatives worth mentioning.
