My companies and teams culture is great, we have flexible work hours and great work-life balance. And everyone is friendly and coorporative and we even make an effort to go out and meet for social reasons to get to know each other better.

The company's culture is really fantastic and I really enjoy coming into work everyday to interact with my team, friends and other colleagues (from my sector and outside of my sector). There are office events, morning teas, end of month drinks, subsidised/funded social/sports events and plenty of opportunities to get to know others around the office.

There is a team leader who keeps in touch with the individuals in a team regarding projects, concerns etc. As well as a head of sector who oversees utilization and other things.

There isn't the most socializing. Definitely a weaker aspect of the company.

Most people are super nice and culturally aware

The culture in wsp currently is pretty poor. Obviously, everyone engineering firm is struggling with everything going on but there has been restructuring. This has created an incredibly stressful environment. WSP is not a very social office I would say. But that is probably just because it is so big. There is a social club which is really great for some events but in terms of 'team socialising' we don't really have that. The graduates are very social which is great, and some social sports are starting up which will boost culture. I can't comment on the structure and hierarchy as we don't have anything to do with people who are higher than our line managers.

Little culture in the office. Big area to improve on a good friend group in the office that hangs out outside the office
Graduate, Queenstown - 12 Sep 2024
There are activities organised and funded by the company for all stuff, per sector, or just between grads. Activities and trips are great fun. Socialising is great, everyone is inviting and kind.

The sa team has great culture and regularly catch up for after work dinners/drinks. There is cooperation between grads and seniors on all projects.

Lots of opportunities to get involved in social activities outside of work

Team culture is very good with good values, accommodating to all people and diverse, good resources and support for mental health and wellbeing. Team structure includes your team leader (line manager) and they support you with most of the people-related things, and check in about workload and help to give you work and put you onto projects, they will also advocate for you and monitor your progress and performace and relay that back to the work group managers and head of water who make the main decisions for the team really. Above that there is the sector directors and executive team who are under the ceo, so not that far removed really in relation to how big the company is.

Culture is somewhat dependent on the team you're on, but generally there is a friendly and approachable atmosphere throughout the company. There are monthly gatherings and a social club which gives opportunities for socialising with other colleagues outside of work hours. The graduate committee also organises graduate specific events, as well as yearly trips which help foster connections with other graduates throughout new zealand. Company management structure begins with your team lead which you directly report to, then the service line leader, head of sub-sector, sector director and lastly, managing director. Connections between higher management and the general workforce could be improved.

Everyone is really friendly and I've found it's a pretty inclusive place
Graduate, Christchurch - 04 Sep 2024
All staff have been extremely welcoming and helpful with any questions or concerns I have. Within my first week I had been invited to join the social club and since I've joined, I have attended many events that have brought me closer to my colleagues. A personal highlight was joining the wsp football team where I have found a team who share my passion for the game.

Less office culture after hours, but lots of socialising within the office and fun activities such as bingo, morning teas, and activities.
Graduate, Hamilton - 03 Sep 2024
Collaboration is encouraged in the office through open plan seating and making it easy to ask colleagues questions. Team manager is approachable to ask for anything. Senior leadership is based in auckland whereas ia m in christchurch so I do not come across senior leadership very often. team social events are held roughly every 3 months. Good social environment in office.

The team culture inside the workplace is good. Social aspect could be better.

Report to a team lead. Cooperative and supporting culture. Fun activities are common longwith free lunches. Free food and drink as part of a social get together every month
Graduate, Hamilton - 03 Sep 2024
Socialising amongst colleagues seems great - I'm trying to get used to the social dynamics of my sector.

In the office, we have direct line managers who we can go to for work, requesting leave, timesheets—anything really. They're our first port of call. Then there are line leaders who manage our service line. Above them, we generally have the head of department, and sector and regional leads, etc. We also have technical principals and directors in each sector who are the experts when it comes to anything technical. This gives people an opportunity to grow in leadership without necessarily going the ‘people leader' route, which is awesome. for cooperation and teamwork, we have regular team meetings both within our service line and within our sector. This gives us the opportunity to catch up over some kai and effectively distribute workloads. We also work a lot with other teams, sharing knowledge and providing peer support. regarding socialising amongst colleagues, we have organised monthly ‘coffee roulette' where you get to meet someone completely new over a coffee. We also have grad events to socialise with other young professionals. outside the office, there are some team sporting events, etc., although I don't really get involved in those.
