What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
No bonuses which kind of sucks. Pay seems to be up with the market though
Graduate, Christchurch - 16 Sep 2024
The company has an employee recognition and reward system, where you can say thanks to colleagues/team members and/or nominate them for a reward category. There are monthly nominations and also a big prize-giving at matariki. If the nomination is successful, the nominee receives a monetary bonus. I really like this system as it ties in recognition with reward/bonus.

For graduates there are fixed amounts at pay reviews and bonuses are not common.

Worse than other companies, better than some though.
Graduate, Christchurch - 13 Sep 2024
For a big company it's competitive.
Graduate, Auckland - 12 Sep 2024
Not very good
Graduate, Auckland - 12 Sep 2024
I think the general graduate pay is pretty standard for a big company. It's not massive but the bonuses make up for it.

I feel underpaid for the level of responsibility I take on and the quality of work I produce. I don't feel as though my progression and development has been recognised through pay
Graduate, Queenstown - 12 Sep 2024
Pay is good.

Graduate, Auckland - 12 Sep 2024
No bonuses lots of other consultants pay higher
Graduate, Napier - 12 Sep 2024
Salary is on the lower end of market rate, but there are a number of additional benefits offered (health insurance, share purchase programme, etc..)
Graduate, Christchurch - 12 Sep 2024
Pretty mediocre, not any pay bonuses really, I think would be on the low end for the industry
Graduate, Auckland - 06 Sep 2024
If you consider the whole package, it's around the average salary for a graduate. There are micro bonuses for employee recognition awards but there are no end-of-year bonuses given.
Graduate, Auckland - 05 Sep 2024
No transparency on pay grades
Graduate, Palmerston North - 05 Sep 2024
All grads got a signing bonus but because it was taxed we got less than half of it - and if we leave before we've been here two years we'll have to pay back at least half. Obviously I know they can't change how taxes work, but a bit more transparency around this for new grads would've been great, because a lot of us were expecting to get a bit more of it than that since we're not particularly experienced with things like taxes. The general pay is good, and I like that there are bonuses for things like not driving to work. I know a few grads who started/will be starting on much higher salaries at different companies so although they're probably above the average starting range for graduate engineers, I do think that we were at the lower end of the average range.

Compared to some of my friends my salary is a little lower than I hoped but I still earn good money.
Graduate, Auckland - 04 Sep 2024
Good pay scheme within the grad programme, and pay reviews twice a year
Graduate, Hamilton - 03 Sep 2024
It is slightly below the market with total remuneration pay. As well as the remuneration reviews are confusing as the first pay rise was an inflationary pay rise.
Graduate, Christchurch - 03 Sep 2024
Pay is industry average for a graduate role. Your pay is part of total remuneration package that includes the company kiwisaver contribution rather than salary.
Graduate, Christchurch - 03 Sep 2024
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Unspecified sick leave, southern cross health insurance, subsidised/funded events (e.g. Round the bays, auckland marathon, social sports), monetary contribution for people who use public/active commute options. graduates also have opportunities every quarter to use a small amount of funding to organise an office activity/event/meal. There are also opportunities to attend partially subsidised mid-year and end-of-year weekend trips.

Graduate, Palmerston North - 05 Sep 2024
Southern cross wellbeing one health insurance paid for, and you can upgrade this and only pay the difference. There are grad events put on fairly often which is nice to get to know more people. Unlimited sick leave means that if you're not feeling well you can take the time to recover before you get sick enough that recovery will take longer (and working from home means you don't have to choose between using sick days and making everyone at work sick when you're still feeling okay enough to work). Having unlimited sick days also means that you can afford to take mental health days when you need them since you don't have to worry about whether you might need that day for when you're physically sick later in the year. Employees also get a day leave each year for volunteer work.
