Our Graduate Program

Our Growing Professional Skills (GPS) graduate program is designed to help you bridge the gap between formal education and the workplace. The program is spread across two years, drawing on a range of personal development activities, exposure to other graduates and business leaders, and a range of topics designed to grow your business and professional skills, so you become Business Ready.

Along with local site visits, technical seminars, and internal and external training, AECOM connects you with local and global teams to source knowledge and experience, which creates an invaluable network that helps you learn, grow, and develop your professional skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undertaking/completion of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • Interest in Water Infrastructure

Pros

  • The people. We have an amazing team of people that make it fantastic to come into work every day.

  • My peers, the type of projects that we work on, the graduate program, and the amount of support there is for graduates.

  • The support I get when learning new software and processes. They don't expect me to get it right the first time and allow me to ask a lot of questions.

  • Work culture, people and employee benefits.

  • Variety of work, Work flexibility, exciting projects.

Cons

    • It is still a job and occasionally has less enjoyable tasks to do.

    • No negatives so far

    • Timesheets

    • Occasional downtimes with no work, which has gotten better.

    • Unable to think of any worse thing.
