As a graduate engineer my role is to support and learn from more senior engineers with project work.

CAD work of smaller parts of projects. either tidying up drawings or making the design part 3d design with heavy supervision very occasional report writing

My role is a graduate, my day-to-day responsibilities include site inspections, design of structures, structural detailing, meetings and workshops for projects.

As a graduate geotechnical engineer, I do designs as well as field works. Designs include foundation designs, retaining wall designs and slope designs.

As a grad a lot of my work is assisting others, but I've gotten involved with so many types of projects. The range of things I've worked on is really good, cost estimates, reports, water demands, offers of service, SW modelling, design

I do a lot of CAD drafting, and have been working my way into more design work as I gain experience. The projects are beneficial to the community once they get built, and are generally interesting to work on.

I generally have enough of a workload to get through and can make a positive contribution to the team, if ever I am struggling I feel supported in my day to day responsibilities. I particularly enjoy the wide variety of projects going on that there's always something new to learn.

I am super happy with the work I have done so far in my team. It changes a lot depending on what projects I have been put on. This is probably what I like about it the most is that no day is the same! I have done different transport advisory work on a variety of projects such as North West Rapid Transit and Riverlink but have also developed skills in business cases through other projects and am looking into project management. The work is really flexible and gives you freedom to pursue and upskill in whatever you want. I have developed skills on Arcgis, Excel and even experimented with transport modelling software.

As a graduate, there are many work opportunities to explore what you like and what you're good at. It really helps when your managers are supportive in this aspect.

My role as a graduate cost manager is to provide assistance to senior cost managers on day to day tasks.

I am a transport planner graduate. I sit in a small team, so I am often helping other teams out as well as supporting my own team. My current day to day responsibilities are focused around getting the bulk of the work on our projects complete, with the senior staff providing guidance and feedback. I primarily work with data, GIS, and reporting. I also will help out the business in getting bids prepared and formatted when we are bidding for further work.

Assist my peers with technical work and reviewing.

I work as a Graduate Engineering Geologist in our Wellington Office, learning the ropes of the technical work, project management, contract management, cost management and construction management. With regular work in an alliance project, with site investigations, construction monitoring and geotechnical software models.

I spend about 75% of my time in the office and 25%in the field. I really like this balance. Day to day, in the office I get to work on geotechnical assessments and reporting. In the field I get to undertake geotechnical investigations through drilling and other intrusive works.
