Gender Equality at Foodstuffs North Island

As part of our overall Diversity and Inclusion strategy, we believe gender equality plays an important part in ensuring we are an inclusive co-op.
  • As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, we report on our gender pay annually, which for our Support Centre, Supply Chain and National Teams is currently sitting well below the national average at 3.4%.  We recognise that pay equity requires an ongoing and purposeful focus across the performance management lifecycle and hiring practices.
  • We offer a Parental Policy that sees any new parent at Foodies regardless of gender have access to our great parental leave benefits
  • We work hard with community groups to ensure that we are supporting and offering opportunities for young females to enter the world of technology through partnerships with secondary education providers to provide day in life of experiences, internships and more
  • We offer a great flexible work environment to all our Foodies employees.  Our flexible work policies can be particularly awesome for our parents who may need to set their hours around children.
  • WT@F: Our Women’s Tribe @ Foodies is committed to supporting women to thrive every day at Foodstuffs with a vision to create a culture of diversity and inclusion in the retail industry, where women have equal opportunities to thrive and lead. In 2023 we became Gender Tick accredited, just one of our many focuses for supporting women to thrive.
  • Future Leaders Advocacy Group (FLAG): Born out of a need for diverse thinking at our board and executive level, FLAG was set up in November 2019 to provide a leadership development opportunity for Foodies early in their careers. The aim? To empower younger generations so they can challenge decision-making, ensuring Foodies continues thriving in years to come.
