We are welcoming expressions of interest for our 2023/24 Summer Internship Programme!
The Foodstuffs Internship Programme is a 12-week paid internship based in Auckland, commencing in November. This will give you a taste of the world of Foodies, connect you with meaningful work and our Here for NZ strategy, introduce you to some amazing industry leaders, site tours, lunch’n’learns and more.
Foodies (Foodstuffs North Island) is an unbeatable team of over 25,000. For over 100 years we've built up a network of almost 350+ PAK’n’SAVE’s New World’s, Four Squares and Gilmours stores across the North Island.
With almost 1,000 people, our Support Centre provides support to our store network across the North Island – we have every function imaginable at our awesome offices in Māngere from Marketing to Merchandise, Retail and Property, IT, Data and Analytics, Commercial Operations to People & Capability, Supply Chain and our Foodstuffs Own Brands (like the household staple, Pams).
We’re big, we’re complex, we’re fun and we can provide you a cracker experience in the world of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods. If successful, you’ll have the opportunity to work for some of our most treasured and iconic brands, including New World, Pack ‘n’ Save, Four Square and Liquorland. And, as the last year has been a year of unprecedented growth for the FMCG industry, you’ll have an inside seat on the future of our consumer world.
If you are studying Commerce, Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Project Management and any other related field, or if you have an avid interest in the FMCG industry, we want to hear from you.
Check us our website, and on instagram @foodiescareers if you’re keen to become a Foodie and support Kiwis to get more out of life!
We’re proud to have a focus on Diversity & Inclusion here at Foodies and welcome applications from you all regardless of who you are or what you do. We welcome courageous behaviour, encourage togetherness, and inspire our people to be their best selves in our Foodies whānau, but most importantly we celebrate our people - our taonga, every day for being uniquely them.
The recruitment process involves a written application, video interview, and face-to-face interview. If you require the recruitment process to be adapted due to a disability, please feel free to contact us directly.
My role as the PAK'nSAVE Associate Intern is to support the PAK'nSAVE retail team in providing support to stores. This involves running reports and communication to Owners/Store Managers.
Defining processes in the DC (optimisiation)
My role requires me to help with stores (such as New Worlds) accounts for example their GLs, parked invoices, aging invoices, reconciliation etc.

The people in my team and the supportive work environment.
The inclusive atmosphere in my team where everyone is supportive and willing to help each other.
The workplace and life balance is nice with Foodies being accommodating to family.
My team allows us to have flexible working hours, which gives a great work-life balance.
Beautiful office. Hot desk model. Lots of free parking. Has showers, wellness room, subsidized breakfast/lunches.
Commuting to the office is a struggle.
Lack of giving people a chance to role progress within the company.
The pay is not as good as I hoped. For being here 3 years I feel like I have added quite a bit of value to my team but it is not reflected in my pay.
While there is some variety in my work, often it can be monotonous.
Complexities around being an owner-operator model in a highly regulated environment
