Analyst in Risk Services Team at PwC NZ

Master of Laws at Auckland University of Technology

From early desk bookings to client meetings and community engagement, a day as a PwC NZ graduate is a dynamic mix of collaboration, planning, and professional growth—perfectly balanced with sushi lunches and evening gym sessions.

6:00 am

My day kicks off around 6-7am. First things first, I hop onto the Floor Sense app to secure my desk for the day. With our office floor being fully booked lately, it's a race to secure a spot! After sorting that out, I prepare for the day ahead and embark on my 50-minute commute to the office, which involves a quick drop-off at the station followed by a train ride to Britomart.

8:30 am

After arriving at the office, I tackle any general administrative tasks like emails, calendar checks, and catching up with colleagues. It takes me about 30 minutes organising my inbox and planning for the day, and I then head to the Chilly Bin (our large kitchen and lunchroom) for a quick breakfast to fuel my morning.

Internal meeting

These are a regular part of life at PwC. Today, I'm catching up with the team on a client project I've recently joined. We're going over the scope of work and what to expect in the next few days.

10:30 am

Manukura meeting

As a member of both the Manukura and Pasifik Village communities within the firm, I attend our monthly Tāmaki Manukura and Pasifik Village meetings. As one of the organisers for the Manukura meetings in Tāmaki, we gather to plan our next  session to ensure it runs smoothly.

11:30 am

Before lunch, I have another client meeting to prepare for in the afternoon. I tidy up any loose ends and review the agenda to ensure I'm fully prepared.

12:00 pm

Lunchtime! Lately, I've been hooked on sushi, so I’ve been heading over to St. Pierre's almost everyday. But there’s a huge number of food choices all around Commercial Bay where our office is.

1:15 pm

Internal meeting

Back from lunch, it's time for another planning meeting with my main work team. We review the agenda, assign roles, and discuss our expectations for the meeting.

Client meeting

Our team heads over to the client site in Viaduct for a lively session. We gather feedback on the scope of work, discuss any changes, and dive into the current state of operations. After introductions, we have a  Q&A session to make sure we fully understand the client's requirements and expectations.

 4:30 pm

With a productive meeting wrapped up, we return to the office to tie up any loose ends and prepare to wrap up for the day.

5:30 pm

I finish up any remaining admin tasks and get ready for my commute back home. It's time to unwind and relax before hitting the gym to round off the day!
