How do I join the team?

Ready to join our team as an intern or graduate? As an intern, you'll need to be a New Zealand or Australian citizen or resident, or hold a valid work visa for full-time employment in New Zealand during the Summer Internship programme. We're pretty flexible on the discipline you're studying, as long as you're working towards a degree-level qualification and have completed your first year of undergraduate study. Be ready to dive into real-world projects from November to February!

If you're a graduate, we're looking for New Zealand or Australian citizens or residents, or those with a valid work visa for full-time employment in New Zealand at the start of our graduate programme. You should have completed a relevant undergraduate degree within the three years prior to the programme's commencement in February 2026. We're open to various disciplines, so check out our Business Units for more information. Don't miss out on the opportunity to apply when our applications open on 3 March across all our offices in New Zealand.

Recruitment Process

PWC

First step in the process is Why PwC?

As part of getting ready to apply to PwC, be ready to tell us why you’ve chosen us and in which part of the business you want to work.

Application form

To apply, you’ll need all the usual stuff (CV, academic transcript etc) for your application form, and we’ll also want to know all about you. Success at PwC isn’t just about your grades - let us know about your hobbies, your achievements and the things that you’re passionate about.

Please read the Summer Internship or Graduate Programme FAQs before applying. It's important that you don't apply for more than one role. We'll ask you for your first, second and third choices.

Check out which part of the business you want to work in to find out further information about the business units before applying. This will give you a really good understanding of what each area does.

Our roles fill quickly so please get your application in as soon as possible.

Assessment and video interview

At this step we’ll ask you to do some online testing and a video of yourself answering some questions.

For the video interview we recommend using the STAR method:

  • Situation - clearly set the context and provide a brief description of a situation where you demonstrated a specific capability.
  • Task - provide a brief description of the task that you were required to undertake to address the situation.
  • Action - describe the actions that you took to resolve the situation. This is the most important part of your answer.
  • Results - share an achievement statement that provides the evidence that your actions were effective and this should include the outcome.

And don’t forget to breathe - you got this!

Please complete these steps of the application process as soon as possible.

Business leader interview

The final step will be a conversation with a business leader. This is about making sure that we’re a good fit for each other.

As much as we’re interviewing you, you’re also interviewing us - so make sure you have your questions ready, particularly about the specific business area you want to work with.

For the interviews we recommend using the STAR method again.

Just be yourself - you got this!

The outcome

If we’re a good match, we'll verbally offer you a role and then send you a contract - woohoo!

If you're unsuccessful after the business leader interview, then we’ll let you know and give you the opportunity to ask for feedback. We know you’ve invested time in our process and we do appreciate it.

Check out our How to apply page for more details of our recruitment process.

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Being in a big company means the opportunity for growth is limitless, which can be overwhelming but inspiring at the same time.
  • The people - how connected, friendly, and open-minded they are.
  • We are encouraged to use our flexibility policy to structure our work in a way that suits us.
  • The PwC office in Auckland is amazing - the facilities are nice and the view is stunning.
  • My manager is very accommodating and professional. I enjoy working with him.
  • The distribution of work (resourcing) isn’t clearly communicated, which makes me feel insecure when I have the least amount of work assigned compared to others.
  • Long hours (at times).
  • Annual progression is good but has no flexibility for exceptional circumstances.
  • The pay disparity is accepted due to the experience gained.
  • With being in a big company it can be hard to feel like a small fish in a big pond, especially as a graduate.
