When you join Veolia, you'll not only build your career, - you'll be part of a bigger movement toward building a better world.
At Veolia, we are champions of Ecological Transformation.
Our Purpose is to replenish, renew and recover our precious resources - changing how humans interact with the environment.
We design, create and deliver sustainable solutions across water, waste and energy to ensure a better future for our planet.
We also know how much Diversity and Inclusion make a difference in the workplace and we’re proud of how it forms a key part of our organisation and culture.
We take immense pride in our diverse and talented workforce. Our success is driven by the dedication, expertise, and passion of our employees who are at the heart of our operations, which is why we have solidified ourselves as an industry leader.
Veolia’s Early Careers program – NextGen – was developed to help support a new generation of leaders through an ongoing opt-in benefits program that prioritises connection, inspiration and development.
We achieve this through activities such as site visits across our Australia, opportunities to present innovative projects to industry leaders, networking with our local and global alumni, access to online courses, and much more.
NextGen is available to all Veolians in their early careers. The program empowers and nurtures you, develops your skills, builds connections, and unleashes your career potential.
This is achieved through six key pillars which will all support you during your time with Veolia, including:
Career Mapping: We'll support you to map a customised career development plan to help you achieve your professional goals.
Knowledge and development: You will have the opportunity to expand your industry knowledge in monthly development webinars led by industry experts. Our Working Group members are also available to hear suggestions from you on new topics, so you can get the most out of the experience.
Listen: You can benefit from the insights of senior team members, including our executive team, who candidly share their career journeys to inspire you to think outside the box.
Represent: You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and grow your professional network by representing Veolia at industry events, conferences and exhibitions. You will also gain access to a variety of learning modules that can help you in these kinds of spaces, for example, learning how to master building rapport.
Innovate: You can tackle real-world challenges, and develop groundbreaking solutions with wild card entry to the annual Innovation Accelerator.
Once you’ve created your profile in the careers portal, sign in and access your application and personal information. Complete your application and submit this by following the prompts.
If you're successful in being short-listed, you'll receive a phone call from one of our Talent Acquisition Team members who will talk to you more about the role and also ask you a few questions around your experience, why you want to work for Veolia and qualifying questions such as salary, notice period and location. This is also a great opportunity to ask them questions and to find out more about the role.
Interviews provide an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to obtain more information about Veolia and the role you've applied for. Interviews take place with the hiring manager, team members and other key stakeholders from across the business. This will vary depending on the level and type of role you have applied for.
We may use Behavioural Interview questions which are designed to get you to talk about how you responded to or handled specific situations or events in the past. To best answer these questions you need to set the scene, describe the action you took and explain what the outcome was.
These may be used as an additional assessment method between your first and second round interview. Types of psychometric testing that may be used include verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, diagrammatic reasoning, abstract reasoning, error checking and personality tests.
As a leading provider of environmental services, safety and security is paramount to us. All Veolia employees are required to pass a medical examination, and depending on the role you are applying for, you might also need to complete a background check or provide us with your driving history.
Good luck!
Veolia offers a competitive remuneration package including variable performance-based bonuses, regular salary reviews and great corporate discounts.
