Our roles are graded based on alphabetical letters, where the highest is A and the lowest in corporate roles (as opposed to retail roles) is J (which are graduates). I believe promotions are slowing down as we restructured back in 2020 and the organisational structure is more top-heavy, so it would take the higher-grade people retiring or moving to another company for the spot to open up. I believe promotions between levels happen every 2–3 years.

There is an active Reconciliation Action Plan with different initiatives to support indigenous communities. The company is also trying to be more sustainable, though there is still a lot more that can be done.

Work-life balance is respected and enforced. This means respecting people's time outside of work hours and recommending that they utilize their annual leave. Leadership teams and management have a lot of time for graduates, and career development is extremely important. No one seems to be overworked, and if this does occur, time in lieu is recommended. Burnt and psychological safety is a number one priority.

There is a strong focus on DE&I and lots of training and events to help people learn about other cultures or the LGBTQI+ community.

I love my current role; I have plenty of learning opportunities, and I'm extremely empowered yet supported.

Yes, my managers have been beyond supportive and encouraging of my development. They address areas of improvement and constantly put me forward for opportunities.

The location is very convenient, right next to Southern Cross station. It's also on the top 3 levels of the building, so we have a good view of the harbour and lots of natural light coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. We also have a very nice end-of-trip facility that I use every time I come to the office to store my bike and take a shower. The dress code is smart casual, so full-on suits are very rare. Mostly, for men, it's a dress shirt, no tie, and dress pants with casual or leather shoes. For women, it is more varied but definitely not as formal as, for example, a law firm. On Fridays, where there is very little attendance in the office, it's even more casual. Also, we have free coffee via an automated machine on every level. On our top level, we also have a barista machine for use as well.

There was a quick turnaround in hearing back after the assessment center; however, from my memory, it took like 2 months to hear that I had gotten through the next stage after submitting my resume and cover letter. At that time, I had gone through the whole process for another company and accepted the offer as I thought I hadn't progressed with the BP role.

BP has been extremely understanding and flexible with my hours. I have had a significant personal situation happen this year, and BP has been unwaveringly understandable. WFH is still accepted and encouraged where needed. Coming into the office is highly encouraged to promote organic connections, water cooler conversations, and purpose.

We have 20 sustainability aims, including things like reducing methane emissions, carbon emissions, and general waste like food at our retail sites.
